InZone’s Deborah George awarded ONZM

We are honoured to acknowledge one of our founders, a former Chair and long-time trustee of InZone, Deborah George.

Board Chair Jim Mather says ‘Deborah’s appointment as an Officer of New Zealand Merit reflects her commitment and passion for the kaupapa of InZone alongside several other community-based charitable and philanthropic undertakings.

Jim says ‘E te Māreikura Deborah, ka nui tā mātou whakaiti e pā ana ki tō taonga tohu apiha (ONZM). He mihi aroha tēnei ki a koe nā te whānau whānui o InZone’.

Deborah received a Service to InZone award in 2020 in recognition of all her relentless mahi in a voluntary capacity for the kaupapa. She was instrumental in the organisation’s establishment 11 years ago and its growth ever since.  A founding Board Trustee, Deborah completed a four-year term as Board Chair 2016-2020 and remains on the Board today.
